Description
The swimmer may be at a pivotal point in their swimming journey, and these 3 awards can be used as an Introduction to lifeguarding
Watch me identify, is designed to cover the basic knowledge and an Introduction to lifeguarding with the safety of others with-in the pool environment. Identify is where the swimmer has a basic knowledge/understanding of rescue/support. They must show they have the ability to spot the signs of someone who needs help and who and how to get to get help. Swimmers must have a knowledge of the safety aids available and people available on the poolside and in public, with an understanding of how to keep themselves safe and also help the person in need.
We suggest for any rescue work you wish to do with-in the pool that the swimmer doesn’t wear goggles to simulate a real rescue
There are many bodies of water and all can be dangerous, we advise that the swimmer is aware of the dangers that can be associated with these eg, the sea, rivers, quarries, lakes, back garden swimming pools and even the bath.
