WOW, what an achievement this award is. Significant as the removal of aids is a big thing for someone learning to swim and therefore we believe should be celebrated.

This is the first badge for independent swimming and the base for all badges to come to work from.

The swimmer has taken those first few strokes and swam unaided for the first time. We suggest to attain this award the swimmer must cover independently the distance of 2-3m (on their front or back or both).

The level of difficulty for this award will be set by your self to suit your current scheme. We suggest that this is just a self propelling award and the swimmer to be unaided. You may wish to include face in or arms over the water instead of doggy paddle.
