To receive this award the swimmer needs to be able to tuck their knees and chin into their chest and hold the floating position on the waters surface.
We see this as a key skill to accomplish for the development of tumble-turns to evolve from.
This is a fun but essential skill and can be a good way to end your lesson.
It can be made into a group activity of who can make the correct shape, tightest shape, hold the correct shape for the longest time and the last swimmer to break out the mushroom.
The depth that this skill can be performed in is at your discretion and the swimmers ability. We suggest starting shallow where the swimmer has the comfort of the pool floor if they haven’t performed this before.
